Rulemaking action by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy has been published in the Iowa Administrative Bulletin as follows: 

Notice of Intended Action

ARC 5194C has been published as a Notice of Intended Action to amend Chapter 16, “Nuclear Pharmacy Practice”

  • The proposed amendment would require nuclear pharmacies to adhere to the minimum standards contained in new USP General Chapter 825, which is official as of December 1, 2020.

  • Comments may be submitted no later than 4:30pm on October 13, 2020 through the link above.

ARC 5195C has been published as a Notice of Intended Action to amend Chapter 10, “Controlled Substances”

  • The proposed amendments add one synthetic opioid to Schedule I of the Iowa Controlled Substances Act and remove FDA-approved cannabidiol products which contain no more than 0.1% THC from schedule V of the Iowa CSA. These actions follow recent similar scheduling actions taken by the DEA.

  • Comments may be submitted no later than 4:30 pm on October 13, 2020 through the link above.
