Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Federal Register to amend regulations concerning transfer of controlled substance (CS) prescriptions for initial filling. This will allow the transfer of electronic prescriptions for Schedule II-V CS between retail pharmacies on a one-time basis for filling. 

Electronic or written comments about the proposed rulemaking must be submitted on or postmarked before January 18, 2022.
