The Iowa Board of Pharmacy (“Board”) took the following actions at its most recent meeting held November 10, 2021.
Scott’s Thrifty White Drug, entered into a Combined Statement of Charges, Settlement Agreement, and Final Order. The Board charged the pharmacy with failing to establish and maintain effective controls against the theft or diversion of prescription drugs, including controlled substances. The Board placed the pharmacy on probation for one (1) year and imposed a civil penalty of $3,000.
Rick Pauley, RPh, entered into a Combined Statement of Charges, Settlement Agreement and Final Order. The Board charged him with failing to timely and accurately submit reportable prescriptions to the prescription monitoring program (PMP) and for dispensing an incorrect prescription. The Board issued a citation and warning, imposed a civil penalty of $2,000, prohibited him from owning a pharmacy in Iowa or serving as pharmacist in charge at any Iowa-licensed pharmacy, and required the completion of twelve (12) hours of continuing education
Scott Decker, RPh, entered into an Agreement not to Practice. Pharmacist Decker agreed not to practice pharmacy or engage in any conduct that requires a license to practice pharmacy in the State of Iowa until the criminal charges and any subsequent Board-issued disciplinary charges against him are resolved through further order of the Board.
